Mrs. S is the single mother of four children, three girls and one boy. Her children are her life. People who know Mrs. S would describe her as “selfless.” She never worries about herself, only others. As an employee of the Metro West public school system, education is a priority to Mrs. S. She hopes to do more for her children than merely provide for their basic needs; she wants to see them all earn a college degree someday.
But at the moment, this dream seems unattainable. Mrs. S is struggling to put her oldest child through community college due to the rent bills that continue piling up. While her ex-husband also wants the best for the children, he has made late and incomplete payments of child support, so his help is unreliable. The entire family is working hard to change their situation, but with such a significant lack of funds, it is becoming increasingly difficult to make ends meet. To add to the family’s stress level, Mrs. S’s father is terminally ill. The cost of visiting him is becoming too much to handle.
Mrs. S is a hard-working woman and a selfless mother who cherishes family and values education like so many of us do. But right now, she needs assistance even just to pay the rent. $1,052 by September 29th will keep this family in their home. Becoming homeless would be a disaster for Mrs. S and her children. How can you help?
